Our Philosophy
Food has changed a lot over the years. It’s no longer a simple task to feed yourself and your family. Food is big business. And it’s up to us - as individuals, families and communities - to ensure we defend and protect the integrity of what we eat.
The food served on our plates each day presents a host of questions ranging from:
The environmental.. “Where did this come from and how much fossil fuel was used to get it here?”
To the nutritional.. “What exactly is thiamine hydrochloride anyway?”
To the ethical.. "Who made this food for me, and how do my consumption patterns affect their lives?”
While this may seem like a lot of contemplation for a meal, we think it also carries an important message that there has never been a better time to bring our food chain back home - back into our community.
It is with this in mind that we began Lake City Farm.
